MPA serves as the voice of organized psychology in Mississippi with a mission to advance psychology as a profession and science.  MPA strives to keep members aware of current issues regarding state licensure and mental health policy, available training, and more.

advocacy:

MPA members, and leadership, are active in lobbying for and negotiating proposed changes to the state licensure laws regulating the practice of psychology in our state.  MPA promotes equitable and responsible treatment for healthcare issues in our state as well as supports diversity in all settings.

listserv:

The MPA listserv provides members with announcements, news, and other information pertinent to Mississippi psychologists.  Through it, members are able to stay up to date on proposed legislation that could impact our practice, receive information about upcoming events, and stay connected with other psychologist members from across our state.

mpa newsletter:

The MPA newsletter provides quarterly updates about the association and its events.

mpa website:

This new value-added service includes exclusive, member-only, access to MPA published materials and content such as the newsletter and blog.  It also hosts a searchable directory of active members, which allows anyone to easily locate a member based on academic or clinical specialty.

new ambassador program:

MPA is working to show our members the value of joining MPA.  You can become an Ambassador by getting another MS licensed psychologist to join MPA.  All Ambassadors will receive a pin, and the individual responsible for recruiting the most members will have their conference registration waived.

student and early career members:

Another way MPA strives to remain viable is by encouraging membership through student and early career members.
